- The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will now directly install Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) systems for non-compliant properties and recover the installation costs through monthly water bill installments.

- Status: It is a statutory body established under the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act, 1964.
- Jurisdiction: Serves the entire Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) area covering 800 sq. km.
- Mandate: Responsible for providing drinking water supply, managing the sewerage network, and safe disposal of sewage across Bengaluru.
- Funding Model: Operates on a “no loss, no profit basis” by levying and collecting water charges to maintain system sustainability.
- It provides several mobile applications for Bengaluru residents to streamline water management, pay bills, and log complaints.
- BWSSB CMS and Payment App: The primary consumer app for logging/tracking complaints and paying water bills using your RR number.
- Jala Doota: Allows users to report water and sewerage complaints by submitting geo-tagged photos directly to the board.
- Antharjala & Jalamithra: Additional consumer apps designed to apply for borewell No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and monitor leakages or drainage issues.
