Indian Navy to Host Operation Southern Readiness 26-2
Why in News: The Indian Navy will host Operation Southern Readiness 26-2, a multinational maritime security exercise, at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala from July 20 to 23, 2026.

- Organizing Framework:- Conducted in partnership with the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) under the aegis of the Indian Navy-led Combined Task Force 154 (CTF 154), which serves as the CMF’s dedicated training task force.
- Global Participation:- Brings together naval personnel from over 25 CMF partner nations (including the USA, UK, Japan, and Australia) for practical and simulator-based training in Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), counter-narcotics, and maritime law.

1. Skyroot Set to Launch Vikram-1 Rocket
Why in News: Hyderabad-based space-tech startup Skyroot Aerospace is launching Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 18, 2026.
