Why in News: Indian Oil’s XP100 has gained renewed prominence as a premium fuel option that is 100% ethanol-free.

  • Fuel Specification:- It is a premium-grade petrol featuring a high 100-octane rating and is completely 100% ethanol-free
  • Target Vehicles:- Primarily designed for high-performance and high-compression engines, including supercars, luxury sedans, and superbikes. 
  • Launch Timeline:- Officially launched by Indian Oil in 2020, making it India’s first 100-octane fuel offering.

GalaxEye Loses Contact with Mission Drishti 

Why in News: Bengaluru-based spacetech startup GalaxEye lost communication with its Mission Drishti satellite after a geomagnetic solar storm disrupted critical onboard systems. 

Key Highlights: 

  • Satellite Profile:- Recognized as India’s largest privately developed Earth observation satellite and the world’s first OptoSAR satellite. 
  • Payload Technology:- Uniquely integrated both Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and a multispectral optical imager into a single platform for all-weather Earth observation. 
  • Launch Details:- Successfully deployed into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in May 2026 before encountering the space weather anomaly.

Why in News: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched TribeX, a first-of-its-kind digital learning platform designed to transform tribal education and preserve indigenous heritage.

  • Academic Collaboration:- Developed in partnership with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, to offer UGC-recognised postgraduate diplomas alongside free certificate courses. 
  • Core Focus:- Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of tribal languages, arts, crafts, traditional knowledge, and modern skill development. 
  • Global Connectivity:- Connects global learners, researchers, and educators directly with tribal experts and master artisans while serving as a digital repository for indigenous heritage.
